For those who watched the apprentice final you would have seen Tom’s idea of the chair that is designed to help alleviate back pain. Taking these chairs into the workplace to help prevent staff takings undue days off etc.
I will not go on about how being fitter and improving core strength can increase productivity in the workplace, instead I will give examples from our clients that have seen a huge difference in their work and play.
Client 1: 2 slipped disks, and chronic back pain resulting in 10 days off work on average every quarter. After 2 sessions a week for 8 weeks this client had lost just over a stone in weight and had started very easy jogging, pain free his back. After 2 years he did not need a single day off work due to his back, and has run a couple of half marathons.
Client 2: Not especially un fit when they started training, as confidence grew and grew they were able to more exercise outside the gym. Loosing 2 inches from the waist and being 100% above targets are just a few of the benefits this client has experienced!
Client 3: Working in sales is a very target based job. This client would train at a lunch time to help improve alertness and productivity in the afternoon. As well as taking up running, this client lost over 4 inches from their waist, and put on some muscle to their chest and arms. Workplace productivity was increased on average by 20% a day, giving them the equivalent of 6 days work in 5 days.
Client 4: Never had breakfast, and never did any exercise due to lack of time. Since starting to have breakfast energy levels increased throughout the day, so they found they had time for a brisk walk. Not only has this client now lost almost a stone in 8 weeks, they do not have to spend as long in the office to get the work done!
There are so many benefits to regular exercise, most people are aware of what they are, but being confident that it can change your life and taking the first steps is the toughest part!
